STEVENS POINT, Wisc. - Several men's indoor track & field athletes posted season-best marks in their respective events Saturday at the Wisconson-Stevens Point Last Chance Meet.

The meet was a non-scoring event.

Junior Ryan Fleming tied his season-best time in the 55-meter dash in the preliminary race in a time of 6.54. He then bettered that time in the finals, running the race in 6.52 and finishing fourth.

MARIETTA - Senior Alan Bowsher, sophomore Dan Smith and the 4x200-meter relay team led the Ohio Northern men's track & field team to the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Saturday afternoon at Marietta.

This marks the third straight season that the men have won the OAC Championship and the fifth time overall.

MARIETTA — Andrew Lammers defended his title in the pole vault, leading the Ohio Northern men into first place on Day 1 of the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday.

ADA — Ohio Northern graduate Jimmy O'Brien will be competing in the 2010 USA Indoor Track & Field Championships this Saturday and Sunday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

O'Brien, a 2009 graduate of ONU, was a 10-time All-American for the Polar Bears in cross country and track & field and was a three-time NCAA Division III National Champion in the 800-meter run.

BEXLEY — The Ohio Northern men's track & field team nearly claimed victory at the Rick Meindl Last Call hosted by Capital Saturday afternoon with a second-place finish.

The Polar Bears had 122 points and were just edged by NCAA Division I foe Miami (Ohio) who scored 122.5 in the 13-team field. Northern is now 40-4 on the season.

Bowsher and Weyrauch both named OAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Alan Bowsher and Jacob Weyrauch have both been named Ohio Athletic Conference Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week of February 8-14.

Bowsher was named the track athlete of the week, while Weyrauch was named the field athlete of the week.

The duo helped the Polar Bears finish third at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein on Saturday by combining for 18 of ONU's 56.5 points.

WESTERVILLE — Senior Alan Bowsher captured the 5,000-meter victory and shattered the previous school record to lead the Ohio Northern men's indoor track & field team to a third-place finish of 19 teams at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein on Saturday afternoon.
