Request to live Off-Campus

To request to live in non-university housing, click on Forms and Documents , complete the appropriate form and submit it to the Residence Life Office. Please keep in mind that all full-time (12 credit hours) students with exception to married students, students living with parents, grandparents, or siblings are required to live in University housing which includes residence halls, apartments, and fraternity and sorority houses.

In accordance with the University Housing Policy (as stated in the Student Handbook, page 25) at least one of the following criteria must be met in order for a student to move out of the residence halls at the beginning of an academic year:

• 135 quarter credit hours (Senior Status)
• 9 quarters in the residence halls/apartments
• 23 years of age
• Commuting from the permanent residence of a parent, grandparent, or sibling, within a 30 mile drive of campus
• An earned undergraduate degree
• Served in the Armed Forces and qualified for Veterans' Benefits
• Married

If you do not qualify for any of the above criteria, you are not eligible to live off campus.

Once you submit and submit the form it will be reviewed and you will be contacted by email or a letter regarding your status.

Off-Campus Housing Options

ONU has provided a search tool through College Campus Connection in order to serve students looking for off-campus housing in the Ada area. All landlords listed have signed the non-discriminatory housing policy as required by the federal government. Other arrangements are between the landlord and the tenant. Please note: ONU has not inspected the listings on this site. Listing apartments does not constitute endorsement. Please inspect an apartment before signing a lease.
