Student Health Center Guidelines
Vision:
To have each student grain or retain his/her physical and mental health.
Mission: To encourage, teach, counsel, and treat students by enhancing the educational process, by modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning, promoting optimal wellness, enabling individuals to make informed decisions about health-related concerns, and empowering students to be self-directed and well-informed consumers of health care.
Purpose: To educate and treat students so they might gain physical and mental health.
Policy: In accordance with the terms of our insurance coverage, the Student Health Center provides health-related services to currently registered students only.  Faculty, staff (including Sodexho Physical Plant and Dining Services), and their families are not treated at the Student Health Center.  They may, however, be seen for minor treatment (such as removing splinters) and/or emergencies before they proceed to their primary physician, the emergency room, or Occupational Health at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Exceptions: (1) Summer Honors Camp: Students with a signed parental authorization form on file may be treated.  (2) Sakae Institute: Students participating in this program may seek treatment the same as traditionally enrolled students.
Summer students may receive treatment during the session for which they are enrolled only.  Proof of registration may be requested.
