Career Services
Our Mission
The Office of Career Services is dedicated to enabling ONU students and alumni to develop lifelong career management skills by offering comprehensive services and workshops that prepare undergraduates for internships and matriculating students and alumni for career and graduate school selection processes.
Our Vision
Strategically cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with “Employers of Choice” for the purpose of marketing our students in the local, national, and international arenas in order to maximize student employment opportunities and outcomes.
Through providing best possible resources, our graduates seeking graduate or professional school options will be enabled to enter into the school of their choice in consideration of demographics and economic scenarios.
Our Students and Alumni
Our student profile for 2007 included 413 valedictorians and salutatorians, with 90 entering into the freshman class. The average GPA for these incoming freshmen was 3.64, with 42 percent ranking in the top 10 percentile of their high school class. These students will endure a rigorous academic program and experiential learning process, including campus-wide workshops and seminars. The culmination of these experiences ultimately prepare them for internships and professional employment, or graduate/professional school acceptance, at their destination of choice.
Alumni are actively engaged and committed to the ongoing development and success of the university, as well as having a formalized strategic partnership with the Office of Career Services. Alumni participate in mentoring, mock interviews, networking, recruiting, and career events and are willing to assist students to achieve valuable internships and/or employment.
Our Staff
Our staff strives to make our office a center of expertise and resource for our students and alumni in assisting them to correlate their academic experience with experiential learning to further enhance their competitiveness in their chosen career field or profession.
We offer over 75 years of accumulated experience in the areas of student development, human resources management, human capital acquisition, diversity, leadership, technology, and communications. We continuously strive to be the best by adhering to "best practices" aligned to public and private sector channel sourcing strategies.
