Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Slated for the Mathile Center for the Natural Sciences

Ribbon-cutting at the Mathile CenterOhio Northern University will hold a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for the new Mathile Center for the Natural Sciences at 4 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 16.

The student-centered academic research and learning facility blends hands-on teaching excellence with advanced technology in a functional modern environment.

ONU Teams with Kroger to Offer Flu Shots, Health Screenings

Seasonal flu shots and health screenings will be offered as part of the Ada Harvest and Herb Festival, provided by Kroger Pharmacy and Ohio Northern University's Rudolph H. Raabe College of Pharmacy, nursing program and The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration.

These health services will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, in the atrium of James F. Dicke Hall on South Main Street in Ada.

Nursing Program Accredited

Ohio Northern University's baccalaureate degree program in nursing (BSN) has received accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Accreditation is valid for five years with a mid-point continuous improvement progress report.

ONU receives grant to study new aspirin dosage form

The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy, working with the nursing program, has received a $26,000 grant from Improvita Health Products Inc. of Cleveland to perform a clinical study of their Fasprin® product.

ONU will conduct on-campus clinical research to determine how fast aspirin from Fasprin® enters into the bloodstream. Unlike traditional aspirins, Fasprin® dissolves in the mouth (not in the stomach), which may allow it to work quicker than other aspirin products on the market.

ONU Receives Record $10 Million Gift

Ohio Northern University alumnus Clayton L. Mathile and his wife Mary Ann Mathile have pledged $5 million plus an additional $5 million in matching funds for the construction of science education and research facilities on the ONU campus.

“This extraordinary gift, the largest in ONU history, will enable the university to both enlarge and enhance our science and math programs,” says Ohio Northern President Kendall L. Baker.
