Estate Planning Workshop, Nov. 3

Ohio Northern University will present its 15th annual continuing education seminar for estate, business and financial planning professionals in the Pettit College of Law moot court room (129) on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Titled "Contemporary Estate Planning in an Uncertain World," the workshop consists of four different sessions with two top experts discussing estate planning. Samuel Donaldson will discuss federal taxes and legislation and income tax aspects of family limited partnerships, and Thom Rogers will discuss estate planning strategies for clients.

Donaldson is a professor at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle and the director of the law school's graduate program in taxation. He is the author of the Thomson-West casebook "Federal Income Taxation of Individuals" and co-author of "Price on Contemporary Estate Planning" and "Federal Wealth Transfer Taxes."

Rogers is an attorney and accountant who designs estate and protection plans. He is a frequent lecturer, instructor and contributing author and reviewer for Cutting Edge Conspectus, a technical estate-planning journal for CPAs and professional advisors. Rogers also is the chair of the Florida Hospital Foundation Planned Giving Committee and a consultant to a number of charities.

The event is approved for six continuing education credit hours for the Supreme Court of Ohio, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and PACE, seven CE hours by the Ohio Department of Insurance, and eight CE hours by the Accountancy Board of Ohio.
