Job Summary: 
 

The ESL Instructor is responsible for teaching English to non-English speakers. Several of the chief tasks include assisting with placement and proficiency evaluations, collaborating with the academic program, instructing students in a classroom setting, and assisting with orienting students.

Skills & Qualifications: 
 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Instruct students with various levels of fluency
  • Assist in conducting and assessing placement and proficiency evaluations
  • Collaborate with the academic program
  • Assist students in their overall orientation to the program and community
  • Report on student progress

Required Skills

  • Ability to utilize technology for the ESL classroom
  • Native-speaker level proficiency in English
  • Ability to collaborate with instructor teams

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in TESOL or a closely related field

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching English in an intensive English language program
  • Experience teaching English to Arab speakers
  • Experience teaching all levels of adult learners
  • Experience living in a non-English speaking country
  • Near native fluency in a second language
