A huge fireworks display will highlight Ohio Northern University's homecoming weekend festivities on Oct. 17-19.
The fireworks extravaganza will cap a full day of activities on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. A variety of events are scheduled throughout the weekend, which has been billed as "Come Home to Polar Bear Nation."
The annual Stefanie Spielman Walk/Run for Breast Cancer kicks things off Saturday at 8:30 a.m., followed by such activities as jewelry-making sessions, tours of the various colleges and the traditional homecoming parade at 10:30 a.m.
A fun-filled tailgating party begins at 11:30 a.m. before the Homecoming game against Marietta. Carnival rides and games are also part of the pre-game festivities.
Micky Dolenz, from the 1960s rock group The Monkees, headlines this year's homecoming concert, which commences Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.
