in

Send an e mail to j-roby@onu.edu if you intend to audition. Please include your availability on those two days as a time will be assigned to you.
If you have any trouble printing them out, please call Dr. Hunt (419 772 2151).
The ONU Symphony’s concerts are scheduled for November 1, February 21 and May 16. The orchestra’s season features two of Beethoven's greatest works, Symphony No. 3 "Eroica" and Piano Concerto No. 3 (both May 16). Schubert's beloved Symphony No. 8 "Unfinished" is scheduled for the February 21 concert, along with a world premiere composition by Joseph Curiale titled Silent Snow. In addition, the Symphony will join forces with the University Singers to perform Mozart's Grand Mass in C Minor. Other highlights include Brahms Academic Festival Overture, Haydn's Symphony No. 95, and Suppe's Light Cavalry Overture. You can become more familiar with these works by listening to them through Naxos online.
Rehearsals are on Monday and Wednesday evening.
ONU Wind Ensemble, under its new director, Dr. Thomas A. Hunt will be performing full length concerts on December 16 and February 22. The group will share the Spring Band Festival on May 10 with ONU Symphonic Band and a high school honor band. The Wind Ensemble will be featured at the Honors Day convocation on May 9. Travel plans are not yet firm but will involve a “run-out” weekend in winter or spring quarter.
Rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:50.
Repertoire for the ONU Wind Ensemble includes a number of very sophisticated and challenging compositions. It is hoped that all of you will consider auditioning, even if you are going to be in orchestra or are going out for marching band. This may be a stretch in fall, but it is a stretch worth making.
