Business Alumni Panel Discussion to Open Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series

Ohio Northern University's James F. Dicke College of Business Administration opens its 2009-10 Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series with an alumni panel discussion in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.

Titled "How I Found My (First) Great Job," the discussion will feature Ohio Northern alumni Stephanie Bell, Jessica Fuerst and Dean Zimmerman talking about how ONU helped them garner positions in the business world after graduation.

ONU Presents a Night of Beach Music with Papa Doo Run Run and the ONU Symphony

As part of Homecoming 2009, Ohio Northern University presents "An Evening of Beach Music and Classic Rock featuring Papa Doo Run Run and the Ohio Northern University Symphony" at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m.

ONU Attracts Diverse, Academically Strong Incoming Freshmen

Ohio Northern University has enrolled more than 3,600 students and one of its most academically successful undergraduate classes for the 2009-10 school year.

ONU has a total headcount of 3,666, which is slightly lower than 3,721 in 2008-09 when the University enjoyed record enrollment. In 2007-08, the total count was 3,603.

ONU Announces October Open Houses

Ohio Northern University welcomes high school seniors to campus for a series of three October open houses beginning on Oct. 3. Prospective students will learn about specific Ohio Northern programs, meet with current students, faculty and staff, and attend informational admissions and financial aid sessions. A complimentary lunch and campus tour will also be provided.

On Oct. 3, The T.J. Smull College of Engineering will hold open houses along with the ONU Performing and Visual Arts Open House. Registration for all events begins at 9 a.m.

Expert on Sotomayor Hearings to Speak at ONU

Dr. Kathryn Abrams will speak on "Empathy and Experience in the Sotomayor Hearings" to kick off the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law Dean's Lecture Series in the Moot Court Room on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at 11:30 a.m.

This event is free and open to the public.

Abrams is the Herma Hill Kay distinguished professor of law at the University of California, Berkeley.

Award-winning Choreographer Brings 'Games' to ONU

"Games," a production by award-wining choreographer Donald McKayle, comes to Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m.

Under the supervision of McKayle, seven ONU students will peform "Games," a production that observes city children at play and the serious business of being a child.

ONU to Host Family Day

Ohio Northern University will welcome friends and family to campus to join in Family Day activities on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009.

The daylong event will feature morning seminars with both student and faculty panels. Family members will also have the opportunity to tour the home of Dr. Kendall L. Baker, Ohio Northern president, and attend a tailgate party before heading over to cheer on the ONU football team against Mount Union.

Jason & deMarco to Perform

International recording artists Jason & deMarco are scheduled to perform in Ohio Northern University's English Chapel Sanctuary at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009.

The concert is a promotional event for Unite for Awareness week and is sponsored by Open Doors, Lima PLFAG and the AIDS Resource Center.

ONU to Present Panel Discussion on Constitution

In celebration of the 222nd anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, Ohio Northern University will host a panel discussion in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Five LL.M. Graduates Appointed to Key Anti-corruption Positions

Five graduates of Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law's LL.M. in Democratic Governance and Rule of Law, a program for young lawyers from developing democracies, were recently selected for key positions in the fight against corruption.
