Dr. Jonathan PittsDr. Jonathan Pitts, associate professor of English at Ohio Northern University, was awarded a Fulbright grant as senior lecturer in American Studies and communications in Turkey for the academic year 2010-11.

Award-winning Songwriter to Host Master Class

New York cabaret songwriter John Bucchino will present a master class for Ohio Northern University theatre, musical theatre and music students on Friday, March 19, from 7-10 p.m. in ONU Snyder Recital Hall.

In addition, Bucchino will work with eight music and musical theatre students in individual coaching sessions on Saturday, March 20. Then, Bucchino and the eight students will present a final concert of his works on Sunday, March 21, at 2 p.m. in Snyder Recital Hall. The master class and concert are free and open to the public.

Economist to Lecture on ‘The Great Recession’

Dr. Tim FuerstDr. Tim Fuerst, senior advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, will discuss “The Great Recession” in Ohio Northern University’s McIntosh Ballroom on Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Ohio Northern’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration and the Cultural and Special Events Committee are sponsoring the lecture.

ONU to Develop Biomass Curriculum for Upper Scioto Valley Local School District

Ohio Northern University will develop a four-module curriculum, “Biomass as an Alternative Energy Source,” for the Upper Scioto Valley Wind/Energy Academy in McGuffy, Ohio.

3rd District Court of Appeals Coming to College of Law

The Ohio 3rd District Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in three cases at Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law on March 30 at 10 a.m. in the Moot Court Room.

The oral arguments will be held before a three-judge panel consisting of Judges Richard M. Rogers, Vernon L. Preston and John R. Willamowski. The court’s fourth judge is Stephen R. Shaw. Rogers, Shaw and Willamowski are all Ohio Northern University law alumni.

Pharmacy Student Named to National Council on Pharmacy Management

Ashley Overy, an Ohio Northern University fourth-year pharmacy major from Grafton, Ohio, has been appointed as the national student representative to serve on the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ “Council on Pharmacy Management” for the 2010-11 academic year.

ONU to Host Spring Open House Events

Ohio Northern University welcomes high school juniors to campus for a series of three open houses beginning on March 20. Prospective students will learn about specific Ohio Northern programs, meet with current students, faculty and staff, and attend informational admissions and financial aid sessions. A complimentary lunch and campus tour will also be provided.
