Ohio Northern University will present its 15th annual continuing education seminar for estate, business and financial planning professionals in the Pettit College of Law moot court room (129) on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

"The Campaign for Ohio Northern University's Tomorrow," a comprehensive fundraising campaign to raise $100 million over six years, was announced at a campaign kickoff celebration Saturday, Nov. 1.

The announcement kicks off the public phase of the campaign. The quiet phase, which took place during the past two years, has generated more than $65 million of the $100 million goal for priority projects, scholarships, facilities and initiatives across the academic disciplines.

Ohio Northern University will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Mathile Center for the Natural Sciences adjacent to the Meyer Hall of Science on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m.

Ohio Northern University has received more than $4 million from alumni estate contributions.

The estate of Dr. Anthony and Doris Martin provides more than $2.5 million for the benefit of the existing Dr. Anthony J. and Doris E. Martin Pre-Medical Student Scholarship Fund. The University additionally received $1.5 million from the estate of Dwight L. Carhart for the benefit of the Pettit College of Law and to establish the Fred L. Carhart Memorial Program in Legal Ethics.

Ohio Northern University has received a gift of more than $3 million from the estate of Eugene A. Beeler.

Beeler, who passed away in October of 2006, graduated from ONU in 1949 with a bachelor of arts and science degree and a major in accounting. Beeler was a certified public accountant and a founding partner in Howard & Beeler in Lima, Ohio, now known as Lentol, Violet Kientz & Co.

Ohio Northern University, has been awarded a $50,622 grant from Rudolph Foods of Lima, Ohio to fund a summer research project entitled, "Vision Driven Robotic Processing for the Pork Skin Processing Industry."

Ohio Northern University alumnus Clayton L. Mathile and his wife Mary Ann Mathile have pledged $5 million plus an additional $5 million in matching funds for the construction of science education and research facilities on the ONU campus.

“This extraordinary gift, the largest in ONU history, will enable the university to both enlarge and enhance our science and math programs,” says Ohio Northern President Kendall L. Baker.
