Grand Hotel

Grand Hotel is based on a 1929 novel, Menschen im Hotel
(People in a Hotel), written by Vicki Baum. The show is set in an
extravagant Berlin Hotel at a time that is right between the two world
wars. The eccentric guests of the Grand Hotel create an ensemble of
characters whose lives intertwine throughout the plot. Characters
include a prima ballerina at the end of her career, a charming baron
who has gone broke, a dying jewish bookkeeper, a cynical doctor, and a
young woman with her eyes set to Hollywood. The more than thirty roles
are played by many ONU seniors as well as up and coming student
performers. The sizable cast is directed by Norbert Joeder who hails
from New York city where he has directed and choreographed on Broadway.
The artistic team also has Whitney Locher, costume deigner and Liz
