International Play Festival Tackles Immigration

The topical issue of immigration will be the focus of Ohio Northern
University's sixth annual International Play Festival in the Freed
Center for the Performing Arts from April 2-5 at 8 p.m. Matinee
performances also are scheduled from April 5-6 at 2 p.m.

Abstract Painting Exhibit on Display at ONU

The Ohio Northern University department of art proudly presents a solo exhibition of recent abstract paintings by Kylie Heidenheimer. The exhibition, "Bursts, Atmosphere and Stasis," will be on display in the Elzay Gallery of Art and the Stambaugh Studio Theatre Gallery from March 3-28. A public lecture by the artist will be held Friday, March 28, at 3:30 p.m.

Top Expert on Food Safety to Speak at Keiser Distinguished Lecture Series

Dr. Carl K. Winter will be the featured guest speaker at the first Keiser Distinguished Lectureship in Life Sciences at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11. Winter will also present a musical performance, "Still Stayin' Alive: A Musical Look at Contemporary Food Safety Issues" at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 13. Both events will take place in Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts and are free and open to the public.

‘Children of the World’ Exhibit on Display at ONU

The department of art at Ohio Northern University proudly presents "Children of the World," a multimedia exhibit by Betty LaDuke, which will be on display in the Elzay Gallery of Art and the Stambaugh Studio Theatre Gallery from Feb. 4 to 22 in celebration of Black History Month.

ONU Freed Center Presents Student-directed One-act Plays

Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents "A Look at Life in America," a selection of four one-act plays as directed by ONU student directors.

"A Look at Life in America" begins Wednesday, Feb. 6, with a pre-show discussion at 7:15 p.m. and performance at 8 p.m. Subsequent performances are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7, and Friday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in Stambaugh Studio Theatre and will feature all four plays.

ONU Freed Center to present off-Broadway hit ‘The Queen of Bingo’

Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the off-Broadway hit "The Queen of Bingo" on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 8 p.m. in Biggs Theatre.

"The Queen of Bingo" explores the world of bingo. Shane Partlow and Rowan Joseph play "Sis" and "Babe," two sisters on the other side of 50 looking to add a little zest to their lives. The comedy highlights the joys and woes of family bonds, widowhood, weight gain and all the pesky little things that come with getting older.
