set the tone for productive dialogue about issues that plague our
society.

Elizabeth Kolbert traveled from Alaska to Greenland and visted top scientists to get to the heart of the debate over global warming. We welcome Ms. Kolbert to the ONU campus as part of the Polar Bear Nation program. A respected journalist and author, Kolbert's Field notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature, and Climate Change brings the environment into the consciousness of the American people and asks what, if anything, can be done and how we can save our planet.
Dr. Charles Bates will conduct the ONU Symphonic Band as they perform some of the finest classical and contemporary wind-band literature.
