The Émigré Memorial German Internship Program–German State Parliaments (EMGIP) is a fellowship program that provides U.S. and Canadian students with internships at a German state parliament (Landtag). Internships afford students an excellent opportunity to gain government work experience, improve their advanced German language skills, and learn about German culture firsthand. EMGIP is ideal for students planning on pursuing careers at a regional level of government in the U.S.

Each year, the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, through the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy in the U.S., selects a number of American students to receive Youth International Meetings (Rencontres Internationales de Jeunes – RIJ) grants, giving young Americans the opportunity to spend 9 to 15 days in France.

Two $2,000 scholarships are awarded annually on a merit basis to college students majoring in advertising, graphic design, public relations or communications who are entering their senior year. The award is based on academic achievement, faculty recommendations and documentation to support the applicant’s request for consideration. Only students registered at recognized Ohio colleges and universities are eligible. The next scholarships awarded will be for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Tim is a 1985 graduate of the Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University, with majors in Economics and Finance. Since his time at ONU he earned his MA and PhD degrees from the University of Chicago and has become a leading researcher in the field of Economics.
