Pictures

The theme of this afternoon’s concert, Pictures, becomes evident in the themes of each piece chose. Except for Blue Shades they are all inspired by paintings.

The ONU Wind Ensemble, under its new director Dr. Thomas A. Hunt, presents Pictures, a concert of music for winds and percussion inspired by visual art. The program will include Norman Dello Joio's Scenes From the Louvre, Jason Nitch's Pictures for the American People (based on five pictures by Norman Rockwell) and Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, arranged by John Boyd. In collaboration with the theme of the concert, ONU student artists will exhibit their work in the Freed Center Lobby before and after this performance.

This Wednesday, February the 25th, LAMBDA and BLSA will be working in conjunction to show a film produced by the ACLU concerning issues facing the GLBT community. The film, which is about thirty minutes long, will be shown at 11:30am in room 125. Pizza will be provided on behalf of LAMBDA.
