Arctic Ambassadors

Dr. Steven Amstrup adds the finishing touch - a number on the back of this large male polar bear. Although he looks completely awake, he's still unable to move. He can hear and see Dr. Amstrup but does not have the ability to react due to the immobilizing drug. It will be another hour before he is up and ready to continue his life on the ice pack of the Beaufort Sea.
