Arctic Ambassadors

Dr. Amstrup takes blood from a female polar bear. Many of the tests he and his team perform are designed to see how individuals in this population of polar bears are faring. In this time of shrinking sea ice and man-made toxins finding their way into the polar bear's food sources, determining their overall physical health is an important scientific goal.
