A little while ago, Theta Chi hosted one of the craziest games I have ever been a part of: Humans vs. Zombies.  For five days every student participating wore a green armband or headband (to denote whether you were a human or a zombie) and whenever they stepped out of a building, the chase was on.  It was basically an extreme game of tag: the zombies had to touch the humans to change them, and the humans could repel the zombies with Nerf guns.

Here’s the thing about ‘dead week’ and final exams – it will stress even the calmest person out. Seriously. It doesn’t really matter what your major is, you’re going to be so boggled down with things to do, so filled with caffeine and sugary foods and so ready to pull your hair out that you won’t be able to see an end.

Hey everyone! As I write this, I'm in San Diego with ONU's Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (whew!). In PRSSA, I am Webmaster/ Historian and I'm also on the National subcommittee for High school Outreach. Friday, I presented on studying public relations in college with Dr. Bey-Ling Sha and Natalie Neczypor and it was really awesome getting the chance to tell students at San Diego High school about ONU's PR program and how I got into PR.

What should I do if I get sick?

If you get sick with flu-like symptoms this flu season, you should stay home and avoid contact with other people except to get medical care. Most people with 2009 H1N1 have had mild illness and have not needed medical care or antiviral drugs and the same is true of seasonal flu.

    Should I wear a facemask?

The CDC recommends facemask and/or respirator use only for those who are caring for people with known, probable or suspected 2009 H1N1 or influenza-like illness.  See full guidelines here: http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/masks.htm

Yesterday, I found out that I got accepted to the PA Program at Arcardia University in Philadelphia.  I'm SO excited!  Even though I still have another interview coming up in Philadelphia and I'm not 100% that I want to go there, it's such a relief to know that I will definitely be in grad school next year.  It takes a lot of the pressure and stress away.  I'm also really glad that everything I have been working for in my time here at Northern has led up to this.  Even though I will be really sad to leave here, I'm excited about the next step.

As of Nov. 3 there is no confirmed date for ONU to receive a supply of H1N1 vaccine.  The University has been authorized to administer the vaccine, but the delivery date is unknown and dependent on the state's supply.  The campus community will be informed when more information is available.
