Freshman Alison Steinbrunner named OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Alison Steinbrunner (New Carlisle/Tecumseh) was named the 2009 OAC Women’s Cross Country
Runner-of-the-Year.

Steinbrunner became the first ONU women’s cross country runner to win the OAC individual title with a time of 21:54.32 at this season's OAC Championships.

At the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, Steinbrunner placed sixth (22:17) out of 231 runners to represent ONU at the NCAA Championships.

At the National meet, she placed 261st (25:30) out of 280 runners.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Freshman Alison Steinbrunner finished 6th out of 231 runners to lead the Ohio Northern women's cross country team to a 10th place finish out of 34 teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships Saturday morning at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course.

WILMINGTON — Freshman Alison Steinbrunner became the first Ohio Northern women’s cross country runner to win the Ohio Athletic Conference individual title, leading ONU to a third place finish at the OAC Championships on Saturday morning.

The Polar Bears (46-27) finished third with 83 points in the 10-team field.
