GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Ohio Northern women's soccer team put in an extremely solid effort and battled host DePauw (Ind.) to a 0-0 tie Friday evening at Boswell Field at the DePauw Classic.

The Polar Bears move to 2-1-1 on the year, while the Tigers are now 0-2-2.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kristen DeWees got the shutout for Northern, as the Polar Bear defense stymied the Tigers and allowed zero shots on goal.

ADA — Senior Angie Pisut (Huber Heights/Carroll) has been picked as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of August 31 - September 6.

This is the second time in her career that Pisut has earned the honor.

Pisut knocked in three goals and dished out two assists for a team-high eight points in the Ohio Northern women's soccer team's first week of the season.

ADA ­­—The Ohio Northern women’s soccer team was unable to get their offense started as they lost 3-0 to No. 17-ranked Calvin (Mich.) Saturday afternoon at the ONU Soccer Field.

The Polar Bears record drops to 2-1-0, as the Knights improve to 3-0-0.

ADA -- Kaitlin Sanders had three assists to lead the Ohio Northern women’s soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Kalamazoo (Mich.) Friday afternoon at the ONU Soccer Field.

The Polar Bears remain undefeated on the 2009 season with a 2-0 record, while Kalamazoo falls to 0-1.

ADA ­­—Seniors Angie Pisut and Jamie Eiben each scored twice and added two assists to lead the Ohio Northern women’s soccer team to a 7-0 victory over Defiance on Tuesday in the 2009 season opener at the ONU Soccer Field. 

The Polar Bears improve to 1-0 as the Yellow Jackets slip to 0-1.
