Preview: Women's soccer looking to ride momentum of first-ever NCAA appearance

Each season, team goals are built somewhat off the momentum from the season before. For the Ohio Northern women’s soccer team, the goals have been set pretty high for this coming season.

In 2009, the team finished second in the Ohio Athletic Conference for the third time in four years. Most notably, the program made its first NCAA appearance following an at-large bid and ranked as high as No. 19 nationally during the season.

Vincent, an ONU grad, named assistant women's soccer coach

The Ohio Northern University athletic department has named Jenny Vincent the assistant women’s soccer coach.

Vincent graduated from Ohio Northern in 2007 and was a four-year member of the Polar Bear women’s soccer team during her undergraduate career. She was also a Student Athletic Advisory Committee representative and an athletic training student, working with several Ohio Northern teams. Vincent also earned a coaching certificate from her alma mater.

Women's Soccer Kicking Off Season with Europe Trip

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team's season officially kicks off until September 4, but the Polar Bears are already busy traveling and playing exhibition games in Europe. The team, along with head coach Mark Batman, kicked off its preseason with international trips to Paris, London, Manchester and Edinburgh, Scotland.
