NCAA names Ron Beachler next wrestling secretary rules editor

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Ron Beaschler has been named the NCAA’s next wrestling secretary-rules editor.

Beaschler will officially replace long-time rules editor Robert G. Bubb when his term expires in September of 2011. He will shadow Bubb through next season to ensure a smooth transition.

Beaschler, who also serves as the head wrestling coach at Ohio Northern University, brings a wealth of wrestling experience and accolades to the position.

Wrestlers to open 2010-11 schedule Nov. 20 at Pennsylvania-Ohio Challenge

ADA — The Ohio Northern wrestling team will open up its 2010-11 schedule on Nov. 20 at the Pennsylvania-Ohio Challenge at Mount Union under 23rd-year head coach Ron Beaschler.

Northern will open its home schedule on Dec. 4 with the annual ONU Invitational at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears will also host dual meets with Manchester (Ind.) on Dec. 10, Mount Union on Jan. 11, John Carroll on Jan. 18 and Heidelberg on Feb. 15.

Luke Miller named CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District

ADA — Junior wrestler Luke Miller has been named First Team CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine At-Large Academic All-District 4 as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The civil engineering major from Indiana, Pa. was crowned the NCAA Division III wrestling national champion at 157 pounds earlier in the year. He was also an All-American in the same weight class a year ago.
