Women's Basketball Coaching Staff
Head Coach Michele Durand
Michele Durand enters her ninth year as the head coach of the Ohio Northern women's basketball program.
In 2006-07, Durand guided ONU to its best season in 16 years, finishing 17-10 overall and fourth in the OAC with an 11-7 mark.
A year later during the 2007-08 campaign, Durand again took the program to new heights, going 19-7 overall and 14-4 (2nd) in the OAC.
For her efforts in 2007-08, Durand was named the Russell Athletic/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division III Region Six Coach of the Year
She was named OAC Co-Coach of the Year in 2006-07.
On Dec. 22, at Earlham (Ind.), she won her 200th game and now has 220 wins for her career.
The Toledo native came to Ohio Northern after 11 seasons as head coach at Bluffton College, where she was the school's all-time winningest coach.
She brings a history of solid defense and shot selection as the pillars of her teams.
Durand also serves as a assistant professor in the ONU department of human performance and sport sciences.
Education: She earned a bachelor's degree in health, physical education and recreation from Bluffton in 1988 and received a master's degree from Bowling Green State in physical education in 1990.
She served as the associate director of athletics and an assistant professor of HPER during her tenure at Bluffton.
She was named Coach of the Year in the Western Buckeye Collegiate Conference in 1990-91 and in the Association of Mideast Colleges in 1995-96 while at Bluffton.
She also coached the women's tennis and cross country teams at Bluffton.
Durand was a two-time All-Western Buckeye Collegiate Conference selection during her playing days at Bluffton. She ended her career seventh on BC's career assist list with 187 and is 19th on the school's scoring list with 609 points.
Durand led her 1995-96 Bluffton squad to a 16-9 record, the best win total by any BC women's basketball team in 32 years of play. Her team also won the Association of Midwest Colleges regular season and tournament championships.
She has also been inducted into the Toledo Whitmer High School Athletic Hall of Fame for her accomplishments in basketball, cross country and track during her prep days.

Assistant Coach Sara Terrell
Sara Terrell is in her eighth year as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern University. Prior to coming to ONU, she spent three seasons as the assistant girl's basketball coach at Ann Arbor Pioneer H.S. in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Terrell's responsibilities include recruiting, organizing practice and scouting reports, assisting with camps and fundraising, in addition to organizing all team conditioning.
Terrell played four years of varsity basketball at Adrian (Mich.) while earning her bachelors degrees in Health, Physical Education and Recreation, English and a K-12 teaching certification upon graduation in 1997.
She also holds a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Eastern Michigan and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Terrell serves as an Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology in ONU's Department of Human Performance and Sport Sciences.
