Viertlboeck named assistant women's basketball, head women's golf coach

ADA -- Jessica Viertlboeck has been named assistant women's basketball coach and head women’s golf coach at Ohio Northern.

Viertlboeck has spent the last four years at her alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan University, where she was the assistant women’s basketball coach, instructor in the physical education department and director of spring intramurals.

Seven student/athletes named to Academic All-OAC Women's At-Large team

ADA — Seven Ohio Northern student/athletes were named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Women's At-Large team for 2009-10 in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.

Six Polar Bears, senior diver/golfer Terri Lynn Shigle, senior swimmers Katherine Moore and Jillian Huber, junior swimmer Hannah Bukowy, sophomore swimmer Alison Garbash and junior tennis player Kristin Timperman were named Academic All-OAC, while sophomore swimmer Sarah Fiffick was named Honorable Mention Academic All-OAC.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- Sophomore Emily Gedert fired a final round 79 to tie for second place overall and lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a second place finish at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Saturday and Sunday at Fowler's Mill Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (68-18) finished with a 36-hole score of 346-339--685.
