Kasey Roeser

ADA — Sophomore libero Kasey Roeser (Brookville/Northmont) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for her defensive efforts for the week of September 21-27.

Roeser anchored a defense that allowed the No. 4 Ohio Northern volleyball team to achieve a perfect 5-0 record on the week.

She turned in her best performance of the season when the Polar Bears hosted No. 9 Wittenberg on Thursday night, recording a season-high 32 digs and a career-best six assists.

CINCINNATI -  The No. 4 Ohio Northern volleyball team defeated Bluffton and Hanover (Ind.) on Day 2 of the Mount St. Joseph Fall Classic on Sunday at the Harrington Center to go a perfect 4-0 on the weekend.

CINCINNATI - Sophomore libero Kasey Roeser eclipsed the 1,000-Dig mark for her career as the No. 4 Ohio Northern volleyball team defeated Maryville (Tenn.) 25-13, 25-12, 25-11 and Mount St. Joseph 25-9, 25-23, 25-20 on Day 1 of the Mount St. Joseph Fall Classic Saturday afternoon at the Harrington Center.

ADA -- Alex Christian tied a career-high 13 kills to lead the No. 4-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team to a thrilling, 5-set victory over No. 9 Wittenberg Thursday night at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 14-1, while the Tigers fall to 5-3.

Liz Schnelle

ADA — Senior All-American Liz Schnelle (New Bremen) has been selected as the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of September 14-20.

This is the fourth time in her career that she has won the award and the first time this season.

Schnelle earned the award once as a freshman on September 4, 2007 and twice as a junior on September 30, 2008 and November 18, 2008.
