No. 13 Volleyball has outstanding Day 1 of MSJ Invite with victories over Mount St. Joseph and Baldwin-Wallace

The No. 13 Ohio Northern volleyball team avenged an earlier home loss to No. 23 Mount St. Joseph by defeating the Lions in four sets after beating Baldwin-Wallace in a three-set sweep Friday evening at the Harrington Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 12-4 on the season.

Junior All-American Liz Schnelle had a phenomenal day, blasting a season-high 27 kills and a .545 hitting percentage against MSJ and another 15 kills against B-W.

DEFIANCE - The No. 13-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team held Defiance to a -.030 hitting percentage en route to a 25-9, 25-12, 25-22 sweep Tuesday evening at the Weaner Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 10-4 while the Yellow Jackets fall to 8-8.

Many Northern players contributed offensively, as freshman Chelsie Timmons and sophomore Abby Schaller led the Polar Bears eight kills apiece.

ADA - The No. 13-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team dominated area-rival Bluffton, defeating the Beavers 25-12, 25-14, 25-15 Tuesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears are now 9-4 while the Beavers drop to 10-5 on the season.

As a team, Ohio Northern hit .347 for the match on 41 kills, six errors and 101 attempts while holding Bluffton to just a .082 hitting percentage.

Christian has career day, leads No. 10 Volleyball to split on Day 2 of Border Battle

SPRINGFIELD - Sophomore outside hitter Alex Christian had a career-high 12 kills to lead the No. 10-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team in defeat against Calvin (Mich.) and followed that performance up with 10 kills in a win over Adrian (Mich.) Saturday afternoon on Day 2 of the Border Battle hosted by Wittenberg.

SPRINGFIELD - Two solid defensive performances helped the No. 10-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team win a pair of four-set matches against NAIA-foe Walsh and No. 17-ranked Hope (Mich.) Friday evening at the HPER Center on the campus of Wittenberg.

The Polar Bears have now won four of their last five matches to improve to 7-3 on the season.
