ADA - Seniors Liz Schnelle and Renee Berry and Ohio Northern volleyball team head coach Kate Witte each earned All-Great Lakes Region accolades.

Schnelle was named All-Great Lakes Region, Berry was named Honorable Mention All-Great Lakes Region and Witte was named Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year.

ADA — Two-time All-American Liz Schnelle has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week for her efforts in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament during the week of November 2-8.

This marks the second time this season and the fifth time in her career that Schnelle has received the award.

Ohio Northern has now had a player earn the award 11 times overall, including three times apiece in each of the last two seasons.

ADA —The Ohio Northern volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 5 in the 10th weekly Sports Imports/AVCA Coaches poll that was released on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears (28-3 overall) received 483 points, 21 more points than the 462 they received last week when they were ranked No. 6.

ADA — Senior All-American Liz Schnelle has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Sheila Wallace-Kovalchik Volleyball Player of the Year, while senior Renee Berry, junior Abby Schaller and sophomore Kasey Roeser all earned All-OAC recognition as well.

Along with being OAC Player of the Year, Schnelle was First Team All-OAC and Berry was Second Team All-OAC.

Schaller and Roeser both earned Honorable Mention All-OAC accolades.

ADA — The No. 6 Ohio Northern volleyball team will be making its 26th appearance in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament in the 29 years of the tournament.

The Polar Bears will open up in the NCAA First Round against area-rival Bluffton on Thursday at 3 pm on the campus of Hope (Mich.).
