Cummings, Immler, Paul named 1st Team Academic All-District IV

Six Ohio Northern male athletes earned At-Large Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as voted upon by conference's ten faculty representatives.

Seniors Chase Cummings (Tulsa, Okla./Liberty-Benton), Wes Immler (Lorain/Amherst Steele) and juniors Ryan Paul (West Milton/Milton-Union) and Kyle Webb (Wapakoneta) earned First Team honors while junior David Penny (Union/Milton-Union) and Brett Kuhn (Tiffin/Columbian) garnered Honorable Mention honors.

No. 9 Kenyon ends Polar Bears' season with 5-0 victory in second round of NCAA Tournament

GAMBIER — No. 9-ranked Kenyon advanced to the regional finals with a 5-0 victory over Ohio Northern in the second round of the Central Regional of the NCAA III Men's Tennis Tournament Saturday afternoon at the Kenyon Athletic Center.

The Polar Bears end their season at 18-5, while the Lords advance to the regional finals with a record of 24-1.

Kenyon will take on No. 16-ranked Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) Sunday at 1 pm for the Central Region championship and a trip to the NCAA Championships May 13-18 at lewiston, Maine.

GAMBIER — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA III Central Region Tournament with a 5-1 victory over Transylvania (Ky.) in the first round of the NCAA III Central Regional at Kenyon.

The Polar Bears improve to 18-4, while the Pioneers end their season at 16-6.

Ohio Northern advances to the second round and will face No. 9-ranked tournament host Kenyon at 4 pm Saturday.

Ryan Paul rallies again as Ohio Northern tops B-W 5-4 for OAC Tournament title

MASON — Ryan Paul rallied from a set down to win at No. 3 singles and lift Ohio Northern to a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Baldwin-Wallace in the championship match of Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Saturday afternoon at the Lindner Tennis Center.

The top-seeded Polar Bears improve to 17-4, while the second-seeded Yellow Jackets end their season at 20-5.

Ohio Northern earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships next weekend. Sites, dates and opponents will be determined on Tuesday.

The tournament title is the second consecutive for ONU.
