Nick Kowalczyk named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Nick Kowalczyk (Franklin) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 20-26.

Kowalczyk went 3-0 at No. 2 singles and was 3-0 at No. 1 doubles to lead the Polar Bears to victories over Tiffin, Wilmington and Marietta last week.

This season, Kowalczyk leads the Polar Bears with a 14-6 singles record and is second on the squad with a 15-9 doubles mark.

Men's Tennis shuts out Marietta 9-0 on Senior Day

ADA – On Senior Day, the Ohio Northern men’s tennis team ended its regular season with a 9-0 victory over Marietta at University Courts Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears better their record to 12-5 overall and 7-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while the Pioneers move to 1-10 overall and 0-8 in the conference.

Four players for ONU shut out their opponent 6-0, 6-0 in singles play as well.

Men's Tennis notches 8-1 OAC road victory at Wilmington

WILMINGTON -- The Ohio Northern men's tennis team swept the doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches to defeat Wilmington 8-1 Friday afternoon.

The Polar Bears improve to 11-5 overall and are 6-2 in OAC play, while the host Quakers fall to 4-11, 0-7.

Kyle Barnaba posted the most impressive win of the day, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

TIFFIN --  The Ohio Northern men’s tennis team its fourth straight match Thursday afternoon with an 8-1 victory at Tiffin.

The Polar Bears better their record to 10-5 overall on the year while the Dragons fall to 1-25 overall.

ONU won all three doubles matches and the number two through number six singles matches.

No. 12 Softball, Men's tennis contests with Wilmington on Tuesday postponed due to rain

ADA — The Ohio Northern softball and men's tennis contests on Tuesday with Wilmington have been postponed due to rain.

The softball doubleheader at home against Wilmington has been rescheduled for Sunday at 1 pm at the ONU Softball Field.

The men's tennis match at Wilmington has been rescheduled for Friday at 3:30 pm.
