ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Nick Kowalczyk (Franklin) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 20-26.
Kowalczyk went 3-0 at No. 2 singles and was 3-0 at No. 1 doubles to lead the Polar Bears to victories over Tiffin, Wilmington and Marietta last week.
This season, Kowalczyk leads the Polar Bears with a 14-6 singles record and is second on the squad with a 15-9 doubles mark.
ADA – On Senior Day, the Ohio Northern men’s tennis team ended its
regular season with a 9-0 victory over Marietta at University Courts
Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears better their record to 12-5
overall and 7-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while the Pioneers move
to 1-10 overall and 0-8 in the conference.
Four players for ONU shut out their opponent 6-0, 6-0 in singles play as well.
WILMINGTON -- The Ohio Northern men's tennis team swept the doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches to defeat Wilmington 8-1 Friday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 11-5 overall and are 6-2 in OAC play, while the host Quakers fall to 4-11, 0-7.
Kyle Barnaba posted the most impressive win of the day, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
