Swimming & Diving teams to open 2010-11 seasons Oct. 30 with OAC meet at John Carroll

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's swimming & diving teams will open their 2010-11 seasons with an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet at John Carroll on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The Polar Bears will open the home portion of their schedules Friday, Nov. 5, against OAC foe Wilmington at the ONU Sports Center.

ADA — Ohio Northern swimmers Casey Davis and Ryan Bender were two of five Polar Bears that named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Men's At-Large team for 2009-10 in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.

Davis was named Academic All-OAC and Bender was named Honorable Mention All-OAC.

Wrestlers Luke Miller and Nick Hoopes and tennis player Jeff Carter were also named to the At-Large squad. Miller was named Academic All-OAC and Hoopes and Carter was named Honorable Mention All-OAC.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Ohio Northern junior Michael Schultz earned All-America honors with a fifth place finish in the 1650 freestyle on the final day of the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Saturday evening.
