SAN DIEGO, Calif. --  Sam Bastian scored a career-high 18 points, but it was not enough as Ramapo (N.J.) edged Ohio Northern 79-71 in the title game of the Surf 'N Slam Classic at San Diego City College's at Harry West Gym Monday evening.

The Polar Bears fall to 9-2, while the Roadrunners improve to 7-4.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Ohio Northern rallied from a 13-point first half deficit to post a 67-57 men's basketball victory over Linfield (Ore.) in the semifinals of the Surf 'N Slam Classic Sunday night at Harry West Gym at San Diego City College.

ADA — Ohio Northern junior post Kyle Meyer (Columbus Grove) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 15-21.

Meyer led the Polar Bears to the victories over Heidelberg and John Carroll last week.

He averaged 23.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game and shot 59.4 percent from the floor in the two ONU victories.

Meyer scored 24 and grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season and his third of his career in a 92-74 win over Heidelberg on Wednesday.

ADA – The Ohio Northern men’s basketball family dedicated the Joe and Margaret Campoli Court  in grand style Saturday afternoon with an 82-70 win over John Carroll in the ONU Sports Center.

Junior wing Kyle Meyer led the Polar Bears by scoring a team-high 22 points and hauling in nine rebounds.

ADA --  Ohio Northern junior Ezra Bradshaw scored a career high 20 points and recorded five assists as the Ohio Northern men’s basketball team defeated Heidelberg 92-74 Wednesday night at  the ONU Sports Center.

ADA — Ohio Northern University will honor former head basketball coach Joe Campoli and his family on Saturday, Dec. 20, with the dedication of Joe and Margaret Campoli Court.

A new parquet-style floor was installed in the ONU Sports Center this fall to honor the legendary coach and his wife, Margaret, for their 30 years of service to Ohio Northern.

The floor will be dedicated at halftime of the Polar Bear men’s basketball game against John Carroll. Tip-off of the contest is slated for 3 pm.

BEREA – Four Polar Bears scored in double digits as the Ohio Northern men’s basketball team defeated host Baldwin-Wallace 76-62 Saturday afternoon at Ursprung Gymnasium.

Northern improves to 6-1 overall and stays undefeated in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 2-0 record. B-W falls to 2-5, 0-2.

MARIETTA – Senior center Jake Cannan’s season-high 18 points paved the way for the Ohio Northern men’s basketball team Saturday afternoon as it went on the road for its first Ohio Athletic Conference game of the season as ONU defeated Marietta 74-49 at Ban Johnson Arena.

The Polar Bears better their record  to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the OAC, while the Pioneers move to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

SPRINGFIELD -- Kurtis Brown scored a game-high 18 points and Ezra Bradshaw added a career-high 16 to lead Ohio Northern to an impressive 78-62 non-conference men's basketball victory at Wittenberg Wednesday evening at the Pam Evans Smith Arena.

The Polar Bears improve to 4-1, while the Tigers fall to 1-3.

GREENCASTLE, Ind. --  Sophomore Sam Bastian scored a team-high 12 points off the bench, but it was not enough as DePauw (Ind.) topped Ohio Northern 73-64 in the championship game of the DePauw Invitational Sunday afternoon at Neal Fieldhouse.

The Polar Bears fall to 3-1, while the Tigers improve to 2-2.

Bastian and junior Kyle Meyer were named to the All-Tournament Team for ONU.
