    ADA — Ohio Northern sophomroe center Scott Schnelle was named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's basketball for 2009-10 in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.

    Schnelle, an Engineering major, was third on the team in scoring this season at 9.2 ppg, was second in rebounding at 5.5 rpg and led the squad in blocked shots with 27 while starting 25 of 26 games.

    In two seasons as a Polar Bear, Schnelle has scored 335 points, has grabbed 215 rebounds and ranks 11th all-time at ONU with 41 blocked shots in 52 career games.

    ADA — Ohio Northern senior forward Kyle Meyer was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year for 2009-10 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.

    Senior guard Ezra Bradshaw was also named Second Team All-Conference.

    Meyer becomes the ninth Ohio Northern player to receive the Mike Gregory Award as the league's MVP and is the first since Jim Conrad won the honor in 2004.

    Meyer was also named First Team All-OAC for the second consecutive year and is now a three-time All-Conference selection.

    ADA -- The fourth-seeded Ohio Northern men’s basketball team’s season came to an end at home Wednesday night in the Ohio Athletic Conference Quarterfinals as fifth-seeded Heidelberg knocked off the Polar Bears 63-61 at the ONU Sports Center.

    The Polar Bears finish their season at 12-14 overall while the Student Princes better their record to 14-12 overall.
