BEXLEY -- Kyle Simmons ran for a career-high 113 yards and three touchdowns, leading No. 17 Ohio Northern to a 31-21 victory at No. 13 Capital Saturday afternoon at Bernlohr Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-2 overall after their sixth consecutive victory and are 6-2 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Crusaders fall to 6-3, 5-3.

ADA — Four Ohio Northern student/athletes were named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IVin football for 2009 in voting conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Senior offensive lineman Rick Ingold (Newark) was a First Team selection, while junior quarterback Kyle Simmons (Orrville), junior defensive back Eric Wenzler (Springboro) and junior H-Back Evan Elliott (Green) were Second Team picks.
By being a First Team honoree, Ingold is now on the Academic All-Ameirca ballot.

ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Jeremy Wyant and Jake Heaphy were named Ohio Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week for their efforts in ONU's 49-6 win over Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday.
Wyant was named the Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, while Heaphy was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for the third consecutive week and for the eighth time in his career.
