ADA - Junior Matt Rader went 6-for-8 from the plate on the day and freshman pitcher Cody Fisher had a career-high 13 strikeouts, but Capital took two games from the Ohio Northern baseball team 8-7 and 7-5 Saturday afternoon at Wander Field.

ADA - Ohio Athletic Conference leading Heidelberg flexed its muscles and beat the Ohio Northern baseball team in a conference doubleheader 3-1 and 15-4 Thursday afternoon at Wander Field.

The Polar Bears fall to 12-15, 3-7, while the Student Princes are now 25-5, 10-2.

ADA — In a change of schedule, the No. 12-ranked Ohio Northern softball team will play host to Heidelberg Thursday afternoon at 3:30 pm at the ONU Softball Field.

ADA — April showers may be good for flowers, but they are not so kind to the Ohio Northern spring sports teams, as a steady rain has wiped out all of Ohio Northern's athletic contests for Tuesday, April 14.

The Baseball doubleheader with Heidelberg, slated for Tuesday at 1 pm at Wander Field, has been postponed until Wednesday at 1 pm.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS - The Ohio Northern baseball team led from start to finish in a 5-4 Game 1 victory over John Carroll before falling in Game 2 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Schweickert Field.

The Polar Bears are now 12-13 overall and 3-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while the Blue Streaks are 17-7, 6-4.

Wilmington sweeps Baseball in OAC slugfests in Chillicothe

CHILLICOTHE -- Wilmington used the big inning to sweep Ohio Northern 12-3 and 14-13 in an Ohio Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader on Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The game was moved to the all-turf field in Chillicothe from Wilmington due to poor field conditions at WC's field.

ADA - Sophomore pitcher Justin Miller was spectacular for the Ohio Northern baseball team, pitching a three-hit complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts in Northern's 2-0 Game 2 victory over Baldwin-Wallace Saturday afternoon at Wander Field.

The Yellow Jackets won Game 1 8-4.

Hoelzel picks up two big RBI's, leads Baseball to 6-5 win over Defiance

ADA - Sophomore Mike Hoelzel got the Ohio Northern baseball team on the board with a solo home run in the third and then knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth to help the Polar Bears beat Defiance 6-5 at Wander Field.

ONU moved above .500 with a 10-9 record while the Yellow Jackets are now 4-17.

St. Francis (Ind.) tops Baseball 9-2 in non-conference contest
