ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team team is making its first appearance in the College Swimming.com/College Swimming Coaches Association of America Top 25 Poll.

The Polar Bears (4-6 overall, 2-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) received 15 points in voting conducted by 25 coaches from around the country.

Northern is making its first appearance in the poll and received the 41st most votes in the nation.

The College Swimming.com/CSCAA poll reflects dual meet strength.

The Polar Bears, led by 2007 OAC Swimmer of the Year Lacey Shumate and 8-time OAC champion Katherine Moore, will return to action Saturday with a 1 pm home meet against OAC foe Mount Union at the ONU Sports Center.

With a victory over the Purple Raiders, Ohio Northern would clinch its fourth consecutive OAC regular season title.
