Women's Soccer blanks Muskingum 5-0 in OAC opener

NEW CONCORD — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team scored three goals in the first 7:15 and went on to a 5-0 Ohio Athletic Conference victory Friday afternoon in the league opener for both squads.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-3-1 (1-0 OAC), while the Muskies fall to (5-4-1, 0-1 OAC).
Erin Stapp, Angie Pisut and Jennifer Klag each scored goals in the first 7:15 of the contest to give ONU a quick 3-0 advantage.
Stapp scored off an assist from Klag just 1:39 into the contest and Pisut got her goal just 2:59 later off an assist from Katie Schaadt.
Klag made it 3-0 with a goal with 7:15 gone off an assist from Kaitlin Sanders to ap the early-match flurry.
Northern took a 4-0 lead into intermission when Schaadt scored off an assist from Chelsea Albert with 1:35 before the half.
Katie Kinkelaar wrapped up the scoring when she scored off an assist from Jamie Eiben with 23:32 left in the match.
Northern dominated throughout the contest, out-shooting the Muskies 34-3.
Stephanie Makos had one save in goal to earn the victory in net for ONU.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Tuesday wen they host Capital at 4 pm at the ONU Soccer Field in a rematch of last year's OAC Tournament championship match.
