GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Ohio Northern women's soccer team put in an extremely solid effort and battled host DePauw (Ind.) to a 0-0 tie Friday evening at Boswell Field at the DePauw Classic.

The Polar Bears move to 2-1-1 on the year, while the Tigers are now 0-2-2.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kristen DeWees got the shutout for Northern, as the Polar Bear defense stymied the Tigers and allowed zero shots on goal.

"We were a little rusty for the first part of the game after not playing since last Saturday," said sixth-year head coach Mark Batman. "Once we shook off the rust, we controlled the rest of the game, but we just couldn't get a goal."

In the first game of the tournament, Wittenberg beat Centre (Ky.) 1-0.

The Polar Bears will next face Centre on Saturday at 5 pm at Boswell Field to conclude their play at the DePauw Classic.
