Women’s Soccer knocked out of OAC Tournament 2-0 in finals by #16 Otterbein

WESTERVILLE — No. 16-ranked Ottrbein scored in the 20th and 60th minutes to defeat Ohio Northern 2-0 in the finals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament Saturday afternoon at Clements Field.

The second-seeded Polar Bears fall to 14-6-1, while the OAC Regular Season champion and top-seeded Cardinals improve to 16-1-2.

Otterbein earns the OAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, while the Polar Bears must wait until the tournament field is announced Monday morning to know their post-season fate.

Kristin DeWees had four saves in goal for the Polar Bears.

Otterbein scored with 19:32 gone in the match on a goal by Rachel Degen and got an insurance goal when Lindsey Rudibaugh scored with 30:01 left in the match.

The Cardinals out-shot the Polar Bears 10-6 in the contest.
