Vaidya, Carter each win twice as Men's Tennis defeats Division I Mt St Mary's (Md.) 6-3

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Ohio Northern men's tennis team capped off its spring break trip in style, knocking off NCAA Division I foe Mount Saint Mary's (Md.) 6-3 Thursday afternoon.

The Polar Bears improve to 2-2, while the Mountaineers fall to 1-8.

Jay Vaidya and Jeff Carter each won twice to lead Ohio Northern.

Vaidya won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles over Jastin Mastowtt and joined Matt Dutro to beat Sam Walton and Reilly Gates 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.

Carter won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 singles over Walton and combined with Chris Dohner to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles over Thad Mastowtt and Jastin Mastowtt.

Northern also got a victory from Andrew Korba at No. 6 singles, who posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Gates.

The Polar Bears will return to action on March 13 wen they play host to NAIA foe Walsh at 3:30 pm.
