Swimming and Diving squads earn Scholar All-America honors for 2008-09

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named Scholar All-America teams for 2008-09 by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

The Polar Bear women ranked six nationally among NCAA Division III schools with a 3.45 GPA and the Polar Bear men rank 21at nationally with a 3.17 GPA.

Ohio Northern's men's squad (9-5 overall, 4-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) is looking for its fifth consecutive OAC Championships title at the 2009 OAC Championships meet  Thursday-Saturday at the University of Akron.

The Ohio Northern women (8-7 overall, 4-0 OAC) are gunning for their second OAC title in the past three seasons this weekend.

Both squads won the OAC Regular Season titles this season under fifth-year head coach Peggy Ewald.
