Stacey Barnhart, Kaitlin Sanders lead Women's Soccer in 6-0 victory over Baldwin-Wallace

ADA —  Seniors Stacey Barnhart and Kaitlin Sanders each had a goal and an assist to lead the Ohio Northern women's soccer team to a 6-0 victory over Baldwin-Wallace Tuesday afternoon at the ONU Soccer Field.

The Polar Bears improve to 10-2-2 overall and stay atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings with a 4-0 mark, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 5-8-2, 1-3.

In all, six different Polar Bears each scored goals in the contest.

Ohio Northern took control of the match quickly, as senior Jamie Eiben scored off an assist by junior Natalie White just 5:35 into the contest.

Barnhart netted her goal just 4:15 later, scoring off a corner kick by Sanders with 9:50 gone in the match. Barnhart has now scored a goal in three consecutive matches.

Freshman Tara Tokar scored her first collegiate goal with a shot from 30 yards at the 19:21 mark to make it 3-0 ONU.

Freshman Madeline White gave the Bears a 4-0 lead at intermission when score scored at the 29:16 mark off an assist from junior Chelsie Albert.

Senior Angie Pisut extended her consecutive matches with a goal streak to four when she scored off an assist from Barnhart at the 52:30 mark.

The goal by Pisut was her OAC-best 13th of the season and her sixth in the last four matches.

Sanders picked up her fourth goal of the season and completed the scoring when she scored off an assist from sophomore Chelsea Chadwick with 33:02 left in the match.

Ohio Northern out-shot Baldwin-Wallace 33-2 in the match and had a 16-0 advantage in shots on goal.

Sophomore Kristin DeWees notched her seventh shutout of the season without facing a shot on goal from the Yellow Jackets.

The Polar Bears will return to action this Saturday with a 2 pm contest against John Carroll at the ONU Soccer Field.
