Shigle, Schultz named OAC Swimmers of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Terri Lynn Shigle and junior Michael Schultz were named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's and Men's Swimmers of the Week, respectively, for the week of Jan. 11-17.
Shigle surpassed the NCAA"B" Cut in the 1-meter diving with a score of 255.5, leading the Polar Bears past Mount Union 191-109 and at least a share of the OAC Regular Season title on Saturday.
On Friday, Shigle won the 1-meter diving in a tri-meet at Kenyon and Oberlin, scoring 199.43 points.
This marks the first time this season and the third time in her career that Shigle was won the award.
Schultz won the 1000 free, the 100 free and the 500 free to lead The Polar Bear men past Mount Union 230-68 on Saturday and with that a share of the OAC Regular Season title.
On Friday, Schultz was able to touch first in the 500 free, winning in 4:46.11, helping ONU past Kenyon and Oberlin ina tri-meet at Kenyon.
Schultz is a two-time NCAA qualifier in the 200, 500 and 1650 freestyle events and has surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut in the 500 andf 1650 free this season.
Both the men's and women's squads will be looking to win the OAC Regular Season title outright with a victory at Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday.
