Sanders scores game winner early as Women's Soccer defeats Marietta 3-0 in OAC regular season finale

MARIETTA - Junior Kaitlin Sanders scored the game winning goal just 20 seconds into the game, as the Ohio Northern women's soccer team defeated Marietta 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Marietta Field.
The win gives Northern (13-5-0, 7-2-0 OAC) the No. 2-seed for the OAC Tournament and a first round bye. Marietta falls to 5-10-3, 3-3-3.
Sanders scored off an assist from Erin Stapp to give the Polar Bears an early 1-0 advantage.
Later in the half, Jamie Eiben had a goal scoring opportunity but decided to make the extra pass, dropping the ball back to Chelsea Albert who scored from the top of the box with her left foot at 25:58.
At 63:05, junior Angie Pisut scored from about six yards out off a nice pass from Sanders.
Pisut now has four goals on the season, while Sanders has two goals and an OAC-leading 13 assists.
The shutout was the team's seventh of the season, as Kristen DeWees and Shaina O'Connor split time at keeper.
The Polar Bears will host the winner of the No. 3-seed and No. 6-seed game on Thursday at 2 pm.
