SAINT LOUIS, Mo. — Senior Ryan Paul led the Ohio Northern men’s tennis team at the ITA Regional Tournament Sat.-Mon. at Washington (Mo.) University.

Paul went 1-2 in singles play and combined with freshman Nick Kowalczyk to post a 2-2 record in doubles.

The three victories move him within five victories of joining ONU’s prestigious 100-Win Club. In his four-plus seasons as a Polar Bear, Paul is 40-27 in singles, is 55-21 in doubles and is 95-48 overall.

After falling in the first round of the doubles tournament, Paul and Kowalczyk battled back to the quarterfinals of the consolation tournament with wins over Andy Redd and Alex Trzeciak from Baldwin-Wallace and Greg Ruth and Geoff Schoon of Augustana (Ill.)

Senior Jay Viadya and junior Jeff Carter combined to go 1-2 in doubles play.

The Polar Bear netters are off until their spring break trip in February.
