Pisut scores 14th goal and DeWees earns eighth shutout as Women's Soccer blanks JCU 1-0

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS - Senior Angie Pisut scored a goal for the fifth consecutive game and sophomore goalkeeper Kristen DeWees earned her eighth shutout of the season in the Ohio Northern women's soccer team's 1-0 victory at John Carroll.

ONU is now 11-2-2 overall and 5-0-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Blue Streaks are now 5-9-1 and 3-2-0 OAC.

DeWees earned her shutout by recording seven saves on the afternoon.

The Polar Bears got on the scoreboard in the 24th minute when Pisut put in a rebound after Kaitlin Sanders' shot was blocked by the JCU keeper.

The goal is Pisut's 14th of the season and her seventh in the team's five OAC games. Sanders now has 10 assists on the year.

ONU will return to OAC action on Wednesday when it hosts Heidelberg at 4 pm.
