Otanicar's late goal leads No. 11 Men's Soccer to 1-1 overtime tie at Roanoke (Va.)

ROANOKE, Va. -- Junior Dan Otanicar scored the equalizer with 16.8 seconds left in regulation as No. 11 Ohio Northern and Roanoke (Va.) played to a 1-1 double overtime tie in the title match of the Roanoke Tournament on a rainy Saturday evening at Donald J. Kerr Stadium.

Both teams are 2-0-1 on the season.

Trailing 1-0, Otanicar scored the equalizer with 18.6 seconds left to tie the match at 1-1 and send it into overtime.

The goal was the fourth of the season for Otanicar, who had a hat trick in Northern's 7-0 win over Bridgewater (Va.) Friday night.

Otanicar, Mac Church and Dustin Connor were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Chris Collins scored on a penalty kick at the 47:41 mark to give Roanoke a 1-0 lead.

Northern out-shot Roanoke 19-13 in the contest.

Church had five saves in goal for the Polar Bears.

The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday at Ohio Dominican at 7 pm.
