Ohio Northern senior Alisha Rinehart named OAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior guard Alisha Rinehart (Lima/Perry) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1.

Rinehart averaged 27.0 points per game to lead the Polar Bears in games with Heidelberg and Baldwin-Wallace last week.

She poured in a career-high 30 points in ONU’s 70-65 loss to Heidelberg on Wed., then followed that up with a game-high 24 points in a 62-51 loss at Baldwin-Wallace on Sat.

Through 19 games this season, Rinehart leads the Polar Bears in scoring at 18.5 ppg and ranks fifth all-time at ONU with 1,114 career points.

Ohio Northern (8-11 overall, 6-6 OAC) will return to action Wednesday with a road contest at Otterbein at 7:30 pm.

The Polar Bears are tied for sixth place in the league with Otterbein.
