O'Brien breaks another record, Men's Track and Field team wins Friday Night Series #1

ADA - Senior Jimmy O’Brien broke his own school record in the 1,000-meter run in 2:28.43, as the Ohio Northern men’s indoor track and field team finished first of five teams in Friday Night Series #1 Friday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
Ohio Northern had 263.5 points holding off Findlay who finished in second with 239 points.
Four other Polar Bears had first place finishers helping Northern to their first victory of the season.
Senior Eric Thatcher took finished first in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:07.82.
Senior Thomas Adam took first in the mile run in 4:26.70 with junior Alan Bowsher taking third in 4:32.10.
Junior Jacob Weyrauch vaulted his way to first place in the pole vault at a height of 14-10.25 feet.
The Polar Bears were solid in the triple jump as sophomore Timothy Yeh took first with a jump of 43-0.25 and senior Dominic Clouse took second with a jump of 38-0.25.
Clouse also tied for third in the long-jump as he jumped 20-7.25.
Sophomore Even Heyman took home a third place finish in the 300- and 400-meter dashes with a time of 36.60 seconds and 52.01 seconds, respectively.
Sophomore Andrew Lammers took second place in the pole vault with a vault of 13-10.50.
Junior Joe Amstutz took second in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:06.10.
Junior Brandon Pritchard placed second in the long jump with a jump of 21.00 feet.
To finish out the scoring, the Polar Bear 4x400 relay team of Amstutz, Heyman, sophomore Shane Huntley and O’Brien took first place with a time of 3:26.90.
The Polar Bears are now 4-0 for the indoor season and will be in action again next Friday at Findlay.
